Britney Spears and her boyfriend, Jason Trawick, have broken off their engagement but remain "good friends", as confirmed by the singer told People magazine. "Jason and I have decided to break our commitment", the publication said Spears, who reported the news on its website. "I always adore and will remain great friends," he added.
Trawick, meanwhile, said that "at the end of our chapter, a new one begins. 's love and esteem as well as their children and always have close links ".
The actress and singer had two children with Kevin Federline, whom she divorced in 2006.
Spears, 31, and Trawick, 41, and former celebrity publicity agent, began dating in 2009 and committed when he turned 40 years old in December 2011.
